I'm not sure if you understood me lol I meant the people on the CA/SA forums. I adore cichlids above most other things.
I'm not such a big fan of those cichlids right now, They are cool but very annoying with my dear knifefish.

I'll try again one day, the cichlids look amazing. But for now. Africaaa

All good and bad in every section. I think most of the issues with the ca/sa section arise from the fish lol. They are soo damn intelligent and for the most part troublesome to a degree so you'll get allot of conflicting methods on stocking.

For the most part (not always) you grab a bunch of poly's throw them in a tank and they will co-exist. So thats one area that we rerely even have to debate.

DMD123 DMD123 's fatty Teugalatti is the poly you're thinking of, I bet. :)

I used T5HO bulbs x2, different spectrums for years. Then I got tired of replacing the bulbs, one fluke one melted the plastic covering on the light and so I said eff it and switched to LED about 2 months ago maybe? Plants are doing well. I have a Finnex Planted Plus. It's adjustable and has this 24/7 mode where it goes from "sunrise" to mid-day, sunset, moonlight, etc. But I don't use that. You can alter the light, too - so if you like it a bit more white/blue or a bit more yellow you can do that. So far, so good.

I like being able to change the light. After a water change I might use a dimmer setting (after I rip out floating plants and it's a bit brighter in there). When I acclimated my new Polli I used the moonlight setting, so it was low but I could still see the fish.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.

Sadly I will always be remembered for jabba, lol
If a fish could talk this one is so miserable looking you can actually picture it saying 'kill me please'

Will always remember that teug! Never forget! Hahahaha. Still wish there was a vid of it sighing when it only got one pellet.

I'd give anything to see that sigh! That's hilarious.

Ive been using a regular led grow light bulb with cheap home depo flood fixture with my water lettuce and the stuff has been doing great.

I just ordered a higher wattage bulb for the WL and a full spectrum led fixturr for another project that im attempting.

This is the new bulb

The fixture for the algae scrubber project.

You'll probably save some money by researching some of the fixtures offered on amazon vs one thats made by a fish hobby company.

I'll take a look at that. Thanks!

what type of fixtures do you use? Are they the big upright lamps with single bulb? Like the idea of replacing bulbs instead of an entire strip light. The 10 gal perfecto light I have is 20 years old.
