Sorry for the picture quality, cell phone photo but you get the idea.

I wanted something that was more open but still provides a sense of security. He seems to love it.

The synodontis spend most of the time hiding in the caves the wood creates. They are still young and small. The come out for feeding but that's about it.bbthe odd night you can catch a few of them glass surfing.

Very nice! I want to completely redo my tank this spring. I love the more natural look.

Thanks, I appreciate it

I think it's the best approach to use natural materials and attempt to create something our pets will enjoy.

I believe that this kind of scape stimulates the fish and promotes healthy development. Bare tanks just don't appeal to me.

I'm not a fan of bare tanks either. Between algae and poo I'd feel a constant need to be fussing over it.
I have pebbles, rocks, fake plants and some plastic decor. I've lost interest in it fast. The plants are a major pain and my girl is always moving them around.
I want to do a sand and pebble substrate, a few real plants, and more drift wood. I only have one small piece right now.

Does your gt mess with the plants much?

Gorgeous tank, I absolutely love the scape.

very nice looking tank. I like the pothos in the top, I do the same thing with my tanks.

Thanks, I don't keep track of my nitrates generally but I do love the look and the roots in the water provide shade and cover.

Gorgeous tank, I absolutely love the scape.

Thanks :)

Its the first time I have done a scape thats not overly busy, its a relaxing tank to watch. I will likely add 2 larger rocks once the landscape yards open up. In the back to add a bit more height. But otherwise I will let this go on for a while and see how things develop.
