Ideas on stocking a 125 with my first Bichir

Man...wish i had a lfs the quality of wet spot. Mine is just meh. Most of my shopping is online because of it

I always knew the place was awesome but didn't realize how awesome until I started frequenting MFK.

Yeah. Unfortunately around me the hobby isn't very strong apparently. Not many fish clubs. No fish shows. And only one decent LFS...the problem with them is..they know it. So they rarely take time to do special orders or take time with customers (especially the ones that are fairly familiar with fish). They'd rather deal with the customers that know very little so they can convince them to buy more i think.

It's crazy because I figured bichirs were probably just never going to be for me until I started looking around online...because the LFS gets the senegals in regularly around 3-4 inches and charges 50 bucks for them..and they sell like crazy.

I had the same issue before, never thought i will get different kinds of bichirs, till i went online and this awesome forum with this awesome people here. MFK poly section is bad influence for me, i should have never looked at this forum(JOKE JOKE JOKE)

Yeah..I'm so glad jaws told me to come over here. Was really floundering over there on the cichlid side. Had a couple folks that would answer but really just couldn't get a lot of help outside 1 or 2. You guys have been awesome

Word of caution with wetspot not bad mouthinng them one bit but when your placing your order be specific that they check for any deformities. I had two polys from them that were deformed one had no finlets what so ever !!!lol I like wetspot and defonitly will give them future biz but just wanted to throw that out there

Thanks for the heads up. I probably won't be ordering from them any time soon. Trinsfish can get me most of the fish i want and they are typically cheaper for me. Though if i can't get a local group for the hets at cota...i may have to rely on them
