Thinking of adding to 2 more Aros with my Super Red

Hey guys,
I have finally got my 280 8ftx3ft tank all setup and my big fish into it. I have a 20-21" Super Red in the tank with a pair of stingrays, 2 peacock bass, a Ornate Poly and a Datnoid. The Dat i am babysitting for a friend so he doesn't really count. I have always been Aro crazy though and in my Area at the moment i have the option to get a High back golden around 17" for a great price and same with a cross back golden about 14-15".

Now all these Aros, My Super Red included, have been the only Aro's in their tanks for their lives so far. all have lived with tank mates though. ( I Have kept Aro comm tanks before, but i got them all together as babies. I had a RTG with a jardini and a silver and a black in the past years ago and everything went fine.)

But i have never purchased 2 large Aro's before to add to my already Large Aro and I have heard that super red's can my nasty.

My question is what is your guys opinion on me buying the HIgh Back and the Cross Back and putting them in with my Super Red. I know its going to be a mixed answer because its hard to tell what they will do but it would be a lot of money to drop them in and have the 3 rip each other apart.

I would be getting rid of the Bass, so the tank would jut be 3 Asain Aro's , my 2 rays , and my Poly.

What is everyones thoughts? My Super Red would be the biggest of the 3

Has the RTG and XB been house with other aros
Before. I would keep the bass and add some more mid swimmers fish to spread out the aggression at first.

Do you have a extra tank set up incase they start to fight,there a good chance they will too.

Yeah i have a 120 setup with some small Orino bass and albino clown knifes im growing up to add to the tank.
Yeah i was thinking the same, both other aros have not been with other Aros but they are in a tank with tank mates.
Its a big gamble and i wouldnt want to spend the money and come look at the tank one morning and have one torn to bits and half dead

Its a gamble for sure, you should try a big silver aro first to see your SR tolerance level.

My vote is you are overstocked as is, especially if you are adding more bass and knives to that tank.

I was going to get rid of the bass and knives for trade for one of the Aros
so the 280 gallon would have the 3 aros and a pair of rays

I still vote pushing it, I don't know a lot about Asian aros but I know they get big and at only 3 feet wide that tank will be tight for 1 let alone 3, and probably make aggression much worse. Add the rays and the water chemistry may be tough to keep good as well.

+1. Think you'll end up with one or none. Besides the fact it'll be overstocked. I believe wit aros the rule is five or more as well. Don't remember for certain

That will be way overstocked and 4' is much better width for em. I personally think keep one aro.

For fish aggressive with each other the general rule is 5 or 6+ although people have got away with less. I wouldn't risk it in a small tank though
