Stingray and water change

My rays, a pair of motoro rays about 10" disc size, always poop just after water change and I have to do it again.

Usually about 30% water change twice a week

I seem them poop and it's alot....

Just wondering, do rays poop after water change or is it only mine which love to make me do extra work.

I find still ok. Love that they will come towards me every time I approach the tank

Jokes aside, yes.. as Bigfishnut says...they poop all day
Short of syphoning as mentioned above, what I do is i have a small net with long handle next to the tank and in the morning when i feed and no time to syphon and refill before going to work, i net up the poop quickly
Its heavy so you can easily scoop it up and takes me a few seconds
If i go to the tank during the day to talk to the brats, i do too.. It works for me..

Yup, it's totally worth the trouble and expenses!! My rays are super friendly to, and each have their own personality. My WC marble male likes to come up and out of the water to greet me and beg for food, if I'm working on stuff and not paying attention to him he'll come up the glass and splash water all over the fish room!! He only does it when I'm in there. I have to wipe down all the other tanks after he does that...it's a game to him!

yours can? My rays **** are mostly flakey and once they poop put the tin foil barbs and silver dollars will think is food and go after it... Then I have to wait for the **** to settle to siphon

Your rays should have a dark brown poop that is more or less a single blob...kind of a coil. What do you feed? A good way to tell if your rays are healthy is by the shape and color of their poop

I only have my arowana, datnoids, severums and clowns
They dont go after the poop so it stays in one piece and its usually brown and firm like in a coil as has been said and easy to scoop up
