I got this guy about 4 months ago when he was around 10" and at the time I had a 11" red tail payara. They both did alright, no major battles or anything, mainly because the red tail had been in with me for a long time and he was established in the tank. So this guy turned out to be the beta. There used to be small fights every now and then but nothing major, tt was mainly my red tail chasing this guy around. The only thing about my red tail was that be was blind in one eye (incident with my ATF a while back blinded him). And one day I came home to see that the armie had a few deep gashes on his body and the red rail was in his usual corner chilling, and didn't seem to have any marks or gashes. But after looking at him closely I saw that his good eye was completely bloody and he couldn't see 
. After a few weeks I could see that the eye was healed but he was blind. And obviously, hadn't eaten since the incident. I couldn't see him starve to death so I had to euthanize him.
But here is my armie now, all healed up and doing really well

I recently got this tank up and running, it is a 6' L X 30" tall X 30" wide dual overflow dual return setup. I still have my NGT and an Azul left in my temporary 180, ill be moving them over soon.
