Hey fellow mfkers,

Currently im in my building phase for my 1584Gal/6000 liter tank.

The dimensions of the tank:8.2x6.56ftx3ft 11in/ 250cmx200cmx120cm.

I have a few stockings in my mind and i would like you guys opinion about them.

Would i be able to keep Black Pacus or a TSN in this tank or keep them together? Will my tank be big enough?

Or do you guys know any other big fish wich i could keep?

If my tank would be to small for those i would want to go with Oscar and Cichlas or other large South American cichlids. But then im not sure howmany of those i could keep to not make the tank overstocked.

Do you guys have any recomendation what would be some awesome fish to keep in this tank?

If afterall nothing will work ill just stock the tank with neon tetras :D

I really would love some advice on what to do because i want the fish to be happy.

Pics of the build?

I actually made a topic in the DIY section but i havent had time to update it.

Lastweek a floordrain was made and they installed hot and cold water and central heating because the tank is being build inside my stone shed behind my house.

Because the aquarium is going to be a snug fit from wall to wall (width) they have to build it on sight(full glass).

Because its a snugfit a DIY plywood tank wouldent be possible wich was my plan at the first place( wouldent be able to screw the sides )

While waiting on the aquarium crew to visit im isolating the walls because in the winter itll be -10 degrees celcius.

In the Meantime im trying to plan the stocking for my tank and thats why i made this topic :)

My first vote is a dozen fire eels.

Next up, I think somewhere between 8-12 cichlas, depending on what type you get. Along with them, a good bottom dwelling catfish would go nicely in the tank. I would like to see a TSN but I honestly don't know if that tank is big enough to support it, but I will let others pitch in on that. If not the TSN then I recommend 4-6 vulture catfish. That will make for a very nice tank.

Of course, you could always go the ray route. If you want some rays with the cichlas then you could definitely do that. Just be prepared to have cichla casualties from ray barbs if that's the case.

I never tought of fire eels before, might look into them. Any idea about how big they get?

Im also curious if i would be able to keep a TSN but if its not possible i need to go with another alternative.

Tought of rays before and it was my go to idea before changing my mind on them. If a TSN isnt an option i might go for some rays instead.

In a tank that size I wouldn't be surprised if the fire eels hit a minimum of 30" with some nearing or hitting the 40" mark.

Again, I'm not really sure about the TSN so I would wait for others to chime in. That was the one that caught my eye as well and I knew right off the bat that it wouldn't fit in my 220 so I did some research on similar looking fish and several came up for my tank but I think the vulture would be best for you. They usually reach 20-24" in captivity.
