I've had the dovii for about 3months and the back fin as always at a big split, as it gone to far down where it won't long back

If it split all the way to the body of the fish (the base of the tail), it most likely won't grow back completely. If it didn't make it all the way, there's a good chance it'll grow in some eventually.

Most likely he was injured by another tankmate earlier in life. I wouldn't worry about it.
