geophagus redhead Tapajos

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Depends on your tank size. You could probably get some tetras, like lemon tetras, or some pencil fish as dithers. Add an ancistrus and you have a nice set-up IMHO.

If you have a large tank, you could probably add some festivums or severums as well.

Geo steindachneri
Geo balzani
Geo pellegrini
Geo readheads tapajo
These are the eartheaters my lfs stock

Honestly, I don't know what a surinamensis looks like. Every time I see it a fish store, it's usually a geo that they couldn't identify.

Personally I like the RHT and the Pellegrini. The latter is a rare fish and very nice to look at. The RHT are just a classic, under-rated geo, with wonderful coloration. Can't go wrong with either.

Steindy's and Braziliensis's are more aggressive if your into that sort of thing, and are very colorful.

Balzani are gymnogeos and are totally different from the rest of the fish, requiring very different water parameters.

Seriouslyfish.com has great bios on each of these fish if you are looking for more information.
