My flower horn and Texas cichlid paired up and just laid eggs last night..im trying to set my new tank up to separate the aggressive fish that might give the couple a problem. Can i do a 50% water change and add that water to the new tank to get it up and running asap along with stability and prime? And i also have a new filter so should the old media go in the new tank with decor with good bacteria?

50% cycled water with old media should give you nearly an instant cycle. Of course check parameters before adding any fish. Good luck and post some pics!
