Basically koloton have more defined patterns near the caudal fin (lower half of body) and have better contrast. Will past the exact response

Couldnt tell you, i only have one id think a larger sample size would be needed to make a more accurate desctiption. Mine Does have the golden brown color along with vancouvers. With all the variances with polys im sure it cpuld go either way.

Does your koliba have the golden/brown/tank base color ? Seen both with and without

Doesn't seem to. Mine looks green.

It seems that the stock from Toyin is a vibrant golden brown. It definitely stands out in a poly community. Cohazard Cohazard this is why I requested a video of your Koliba regarding the question J jaws7777 asked about color. Love the fact that u just picked up a large koliba and faranah lap. It allows us to take notes and learn :-)

This is the video that got me hooked and hoped I get the exact thing. Well, it's exact for everyone.. yay....

I meant the base color. My koloton has a green patterns with the gold/yellow/tan base no brown patterns. The faranah is a darker green pattern over a dark brown base. Sometimes the base will turn to a greyish brown

And that poor lonely fish is always at the front of the tank. Someone go get it! :)

When you feed a dog raw (diet of mainly raw meat, bones, and organs) they have small firm poops that crumble away vs. kibble. And also, quality kibble (less filler, more meat) = smaller firmer poops than cheap kibble.

So fish pellets creating more poop makes sense to me.

It would be interesting to do an experiment where one baby fish got mainly pellets and the other got mainly fish or other "real" food and if the growth rates would be different.
how big is the koloton? I'm guessing big....Otherwise, I would. It sounds like a great fish :)
This is day 7 of no tilapia. Just pellet feedings. Dang! It's a messy affair. Trying to get more polys to give in, but they're on strike. Only 3 eats pellets. I'm about to give in, lol...

they look great! Which 3 are the ones eating the pellets?

Yes, mine is what jaws explained. Darke green markings with Gold/yellow/tan base. This is an accurate description. :-)

Ah I see. In the feeding video you shared the koloton looks like both pattern and base color are a shade of brown compared to the Faranah. I got excited that would be a cool look.

My Koliba does not have the brown base color but could be due to my substrate and lighting, it's very different from the garnet and LEDs you and Jaws are using.
