Hi first post ever, and I need help.

I'm running my canister without media, it would work for about 2 minutes, then motor will stop pumping out water and starts making noise ( like a piece of rock being shaked in a tupperware) it will make this sound for a couple of minutes and then will start pumping out water again for another minute, then stop pumping water again. Has anyone dealt with this situation before?

Again, I took out the media filters do clogging is not the problem? I would really appreciate your help.

When it does pump the water out is it full of air bubbles?

It's possible that there is air trapped in the filter, maybe due to air being drawn in through worn or missing seals, loops or sags in the hoses, etc.

Is this filter new to you or have you had it awhile?

Hi deeda. Nope I don't see air bubbles, its pumping out water for sure.. it's 2nd hand came with the tank I bought on Craiglist, it was just a throw in. If I'm housing a single arowana, will I need this strong pump? Or I could get a weaker canister?

Since it is a 2nd hand filter, it may need new seals and/or o-rings as these parts are considered wear items.

I also highly suggest looking online for the owner's manual if you did NOT get it with the filter as the manual directions are usually very helpful and often lists parts and part numbers.

I can't advise on whether the filter would be sufficient for an Arowana as I've not kept them.

What size is the tank and post the dimensions in Length x Width x Height?

Hi deeda, the tank is 60x20x20. I gave up on the filter. I just ordered the Sunsun canister filters.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

You are very welcome!!

It's always a gamble when buying used equipment but consider holding onto it for possible future repairs if you are comfortable with that option.
