I'm not sure they are Nics either, but I have a tank open so its worth a shot to see what they turn out to be. Unfortunately life got in the way and I wasn't able to get them today, hopefully tomorrow. I did snag a $5 off $30 coupon for the store so at least my purchase will be a little cheaper (and it will force me to buy a group

Stopped on the way home from work and got them for $3/eat after coupon so I got five. Still no clue what they are (not Nics I am fairly certain). Thinking maybe something SA, possibly hybrid because of the bright blue sides. Sorry for the terrible pics, they move constantly and my glass needs cleaned!

compare yours with the Chuco micropthalamus below, not sure because at a young age many Central Americans look similar, and I do believe, they look Central American

I agree. The better pics really help.
Major score OP. COA has 1.5" ones for $19.
Never heard of the Chuco micropthalamus before, but looking at those pictures I am almost certain thats what they are, mostly because of the mouth which is a pretty unique shape.
Score! How big do these guys get?
