I have two plecos, a large l24 pleco which is a carnivore but it is very shy and scared of the other fish and I have a common pleco which is an omnivore but its mouth would not be big enough to inflict a wound of that size.
I have seen the common pleco sucking on my bichir before but didn't think much of it as he never showed signs of injury or discomfortI wouldn't think it would be the L24(always wanted one) commons are well known to develop a taste for slime coat. How wide is the spot and how wide is the commons head? Even if the spot on the bichirs head is bigger than the plecos mouth that may not rule out the pleco unless the spot is atleast 2x bigger than the plecos mouth(a guess)
