530 Gallon Mekong Tank project

Cool. My brother has been living in Zurich for a couple years now. Amazing country. Such large tanks popular there?
 
That is fantastic. Literally looks like you carved out a piece of nature and put it in a tank. Excellent work! I like the stock as well.
 
N nzafi , there are some MFK's , but not that much. The biggest I know has 3 amazone Tanks with Arapaimas Arowanas, Redtails and Cichlas. 15'000 Gallons each Tank !

He's a Koi Breeder and the Tanks are located in his facility www.koi-breeder.ch

The Project is still going forward. Actually I'm working on the Plants above the Waterline. I'll try to create a Paludarium with the 530 Gallons and above a Terrarium area to house Tokeh Gecko's.

the tank was broken at another guy's project so I got the tank almost for free :-) I had only to fix one of the bottom plates to seal it and had to find a solution for a inner filtration.



I built a inner Filtration with 4 chambers within a moving bed step

Amazing setup and fish-stunning.
I'm really interested in the filter-is that the sole filter in a tank that size? Apart from maybe some pumps for circulation elsewhere.
Have you any pics or diagram its design and how it's set up together with the size of the pump. What is it made of?

Sorry for loads of questions but I'm looking to get a bigger tank in our new house and I've never setup or had sumps before and would be more comfortable with a design like yours. If it's the only source of filtration in the tank I'm amazed because your water looks pristine.

In.ove the other setups in your other posts too by the way-the P. obscura are beasts.

As far as cool plants checkout the following plants:jade vine,staghorn fern,black bat flower, dykia burgundy ice.
 
Hi there

its been a long time since my last posts her. but now I'm back with some updates :)

First of all I go a Flyriver Turtle (carettochelys insculpta) it was a rescue ouf of a way to small Tank . The filtration works very well and I didn't had to do anything in the last 6Months. it just run's :D

Yes, i have covered one quarter of the top to shade the Background so you can't see the space on the Background (Tank is 39" deep).

Zigermandli Zigermandli Can you provide more information, pics on your filtration? It looks like you are doing a HMF/K1 combo. Curious to exactly how you set it up, flow rate, and how much internal space it is taking up.
