i have a tank with some rb piranha and I was considering adding some snails to it to hopefully get a small cologny going and take them out and feed them to my gs puffer whenever he needed them. Does this sound ok? I've had aquariums for years but have little to no experience with snails. I'm guessing the rb's will leave them alone? Any particular kind of snails you guys reccomend? I know malaysian trumpet snails won't work because their shells are too hard but there are lots of other kinds of snails but I have no clue what to choose.

I personally would not do it. You could raise snails in a large jar so they won't take over your RBP aquarium. Rams Horn would be good . I suggest getting them from the lfs not from a pond due to parasites they may harbour.
