Are you planning on doing any aquascaping? I did the black background and black bare bottom for awhile but now wish I had done anatural red sand instead or some other color. In my case it's hard to keep the bare bottom constantly clean but I'm guessing with those ultimas everything gets sucked into them.

I'll get around to a light amount of substrate in the future. Scaping hasn't been a priority and rays scape however they please anyway. For now I'm enjoying it clean and simple
I have always been a fan of less so that the fish have more room. My only issue was I could not avoid the dirty look of bare bottom. The other issue I had was that my filters "crashed" and without substrate there was a lot less back up. That obviously wont be a problem in your case 
Thanks bro. I haven't been posting much progress but I've been working on it daily. Moderating has been getting to me as of late and I got frustrated so hit the brakes on posting. I finished the nursery and am replumbing the overflows at the moment.
Fantastic. The female is really becoming a gem. Her spotting and base color are really unique. This nursery is so awesome. Can't wait for the next litter to use it.
I moved the p14 male in with the henlei and it took him a total of 17 minutes to get it done. I got it on video as well. Sorry for the blurry pics but it happens quick. You get a pic or don't.
