Who here knows anything about this species? I'm looking for something that stays a bit smaller, and already have 4 Sun Catfish at anywhere from 2.5"-4.5" at the moment. These guys look really interesting. Could someone shed some light on care/tank size/tank mates/temperament?

Bump for visibility.

Many species fit this name but by far the most common is Pseudomystus siamensis . Very well known catfish. I'd suggest starting with Planet Catfish - both Cat-eLog and Catfish of the month article, and SeriouslyFish. Also ScotCat and FishBase. There could be more written about it on Aquatic Community, Aqualand, and other known fish data sites.

Fantastic! Thanks for the reply. I'll start digging around. I've got the kitty-fish fever. It all started with a Pictus that ended up being a monster at almost 13". He's a big boy for the species, and one of my favorite fish.

I have an asian bumblebee cat fish bought him at 2 inches didn't see him for about 3 months then when i did i got a shock he is about 8 inches you don't see them often but when you do it is impressive my one lives with 2 sun catfish but he has out grown them

I had one a few yrs back and never saw it. Didnt give it a chance to really settle in though

I've had one for over a year now fairly reclusive until lights out, make sure you feed it regularly otherwise it could nip at other fish at night, best kept with fish it can't easily swallow, nice looking cat when I see it lol
