Anyone knows how to force feed a fish? I have an albino oscar(1.5") when i introduced him into my tank, other fishes started to nip his fins . His tail fins are completely disappeared. He is no eating anything but is alive. He rejects all type of food such as cichlid gold, tubiflex worms, green peas, dried shrimps. What should i do. I have transferred him to hospital tank with a heater and filter. Temperature is 28°C. All water parameters are normal. Should i force feed him ? How to do it?
Thank you.

The baby Oscar is stressed out remove from the aquarium asap! Leave alone until Oscar fully recovered its fins and eating normal.

What other fish do you have in the aquarium ? The other fish maybe to aggressive for the Oscar especially at that size.

I agree with the above statements, isolate this fish and it will feed once healthy; no need to force feed. The stress of force feeding may not benefit this fish.

Let him cope up with the damage in an isolated area with no visiual contact with other fishes and wait up to 2-3 weeks to let him put on some wait and build a association of food with you.
2-3 weeks without eating? I had already isolated him. Hes not eating anything and is becoming weak

Let him be in the hospital tank for few more days. He will come out of the trauma slowly.
Gradually introduce food to him. May be 1 or 2 peleltes after few days.
Keep him in the hospital tank till he recovers fully and gain some weight. It may take more than a month.
Dont worry about the fish not eating at this momemnt. They can survive more than 15 days without eating anything.
Have patience and give it some time.

You could try offering fresh food with chopsticks so that you can hold the food at the surface and move it about a little. Personally, I would stick to offering one type of food and give him time to get use to the idea of eating it.

Oscar's can be very temperamental. My poor departed Oscar would refuse to let me feed him for days when I did something he didn't like. Try getting someone else to feed him and see if that works.

I'm guessing you're in America, so I would also be treating with antibiotics (I usually wouldn't jump to antibiotics buts it's an Oscar), Also aquarium salt should be added to the tank.

Hope your Oscar gets better, and maybe it's time to reconsider tank mates?
