Efficient pump recommendation?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't think you'll find better value than Jebao DC pumps. I dont have one but others have had good experiences. There are others more expensive than Jebao but less than Red Dragon that will do a great jib too. Deep Water and Echotech.

I was just going to suggest ecotech. Specifically the L1

Yes, I've been happy with the L1 so far (used for my closed loop circulation). It appears to be very well made and of course is very quiet as well.

I run about 1600gph in my system with two Jebao DCP 8000's. I run them at about 55-60%, which is about 70 total watts. They are highly adjustable and extremely quiet. The 8000's go for about $100 on Amazon or EBay. I highly recommend them!

Oh, they have an adjustable controller that lets you go from 30% to 100% by 1% increments.

I actually beat the living crap out of these pumps. Besides the ones i use in my sumps i use one for water changes and used another to pump muddy water out of a ditch...never clogged or missed a beat.

Did you really mean 1%, or 10%? I think 10 is more realistic.

Dcp is in 1% increments which i cant see being overly useful

Yep, the DCP's are 1% increments. I find the fine adjustability to be very useful with my herbie drains. I never have to touch my valves because I can just bump my pumps up or down a tiny bit if I need to. I like them a lot and highly recommend them.

Im sure they are just as good if not better than the older models but i dont see how 1, 10, or 20 % increments would make a huge deal once the gate is set no need to really adjust, sure evap will screw with sump water level but not enough noise to warrant adjusting anything

Ah, thanks for confirming. I guess smaller increments are not a bad thing.

Im pretty sure my Waveline and Echotech aren't 1% increments. It's quite rare I adjust my Herbie, and I typically turn the gate valve by a hair if I do need to adjust.
