BGK are one of the nicest knifefish out there.
BGK are definitely nice but Tigre, Zebra, and Afer knifefish are nicer in my opinion

Hi slippery slimecoat, hope you are doing good.I've seen you talking about adding 4 dats that'll grow well over 12"+ each, multiple cichlids that'll grow 8-12", silver dollars, a BGK that'll reach 16"+, and bichers that'll grow 12"+. That 150 may seem big now, but it'll look small pretty quick. I know you said you'll regime some as they grow, but just be aware that rehoming large fish isn't always real easy depending on where you live.
The maintenance for me is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. As odd as it sounds, I love doing water changes. It kind of helps relieve my stress. Something about the water is soothing. Please don't think I am a weirdo LOL. But, I plan on either doing daily 20-30 percent water changes or every other day.Sound advice. Not to mention the work you'll have put in to maintain that bioload
Oh NICE! I love the tigre and zebra knifes, they have the electric eel look but not the electric eel aggression.BGK are definitely nice but Tigre, Zebra, and Afer knifefish are nicer in my opinion
You could get an african knife - they stay smaller and tend to be more active during the day.

LMAO!!! Oh well!!!Too late.
I guess so, hehe....We are all weirdos here![]()
Dually noted. Pearsei are a nice cichlid.Oh no way do i think that is wierd. I enjoy doing them too but there also is a limit. Those cichlids will be enough to handle on their own. I have a 150 as well, maintenance was a nightmare when i had my pearsei and polys in there....plus at the time the polys were much smaller. 3 or 4 fin level wc a week isnt enjoyable. Plus the plecos, eels, bgk and polys i think it will lose its luster pretty fast.
150, 200, 300 , 400 gals sound big but they really arent, after upgrading to a 300 i feel like they are nothing but a drop in a bucket.
If i could fo it all over again i would have just 5 or 6 polys and the pearsei in the bigger tank
