Update on Birchir I bought a few months ago

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I can't wait ^_^ I can finally have a tank big enough that I can plant up the way I want, aslong as plecos doesn't bulldoze it that is haha
I always look at my tanks I've previously had and found them too tiny, always wanted a huge monster tank to make all pretty and we'll planted

I'm probably gonna make it a separation wall between the kitchen and the living room, then it's not taking up a wall, and theres no point in us having a breakfast bar for the fact we don't ever eat to the one we have here lol so I've re drawn the designs and placed a tank there instead xD

Soooo picked up 3 more clown loach on the weekend -_- the woman hooking them out got me one that was a tad too small
So yesterday aftetnoon one ''mysteriously vanished" i feel really bad for it, i even said i didnt want it but she couldnt be arsed to take it out of the bag so she gave it to me for free :'( poor guy obviously made a tasty meal, i kept repeating that i didnt want it because it would get eaten and that i felt cruel, sooo unsure how i feel about giving him a live meal, could cause issues, hopefully he wont try and eat the other 3 as they are a lot bigger than that one was O.O

Well.. They do share the same tank space down the bottom.
One could only speculate what could have happened to the "missing" loach. But yeahh I couldn't agree more than thinking of the same outcome too of how it all MIGHT end for that one.

Loaches being shy as they are, could still be hiding somewhere and holding out and staying away from that Delhezi.

Haha just hopeful thinking!

I am pretty certain he/she has been eaten, i still have 3 and they are too large to be eaten thankfully but still sad the little one got eaten, but it is still my fault for putting him in there to start with :/
I would like to get another 3 of them so there is 6 altogether but unsure if that would be to many for the tank they will eventually be going in
I know they like large groups but obviously the tank needs to be large enough to accomodate the size they get too

I am not sure when you said "..for the tank they will eventually be going in.." refers to the incoming humongous tank you had planned out.. If so, there is no problem.

Yes they shool in large numbers in the wild.
The current 3 need more friends in there to mimick their natural schooling behaviour.

Just go and get them loaches! LOL

Yeah i know the tank is pretty damn big (STILL SO EXCITED) its just because obviously im going to have the birchir in there and then the pleco which will likely get huge, and then an army of clown loaches, and with a previous comment saying they all share the same space i dont really want to over crowd that section of the tank, ideally i would like to have around 10 - 12ish if i can but with everythings growth size being 1ft or more 8ft of tank isnt all that much when you think about it
