filtration for 9,000 gal tank.. pls advices

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Millerkid you're on to something here. Baldor makes a 4" motor/pump that moves major water. I'm not sure that reeflo builds the pump however. Reeflo always uses baldor motors in the gold models (great motors) always go with the gold models when shopping reeflo.

Hmmm. vincentwugwg vincentwugwg hey buddy do you know what brand those 4" pumps we spoke about are? I know baldor makes the motor but are they reeflo manufactured?

Sup fellow monster fishkeepers!!

I am building a pond with viewing window soon. It is going to be roughly like this
View attachment 1265566

Tank dimension :
650cm Length x 350cm W x 150cm H
It is a 9,000 gallon tank

What i dont get is, how the hell i suppose to get 7-10x turnover rate?? The biggest pump i could find is a 3000 GPH pump. That means i need 21-30 pumps to achieve the desired turnover rate.

Please advice on the filtration. Thx

Can we all come over, and go fishing in your tank lol :p

Just out of curiosity, couldn't you also do a very large aquaponics setup? This would surely help filtration.

I might be totally off the mark, as I cannot even imagine a tank this size.

If i were you I would go with a k1 moving bed or also bashsea media if you cant get an enormous sump then a trickle tower also a uv sterilizer as well as some thick filter floss . On an 9,000 gallon tank you will need to a lot of flow
I would go with at least 10 eco tech mp60 wave makers to really have some good flow as well as a good canister fiter to have a clean aquarium. Good luck with your build

Yes i am getting jebao wavemaker, eco tech isnt available in my country.. :)

Thanks a lot

Thanks all.. i think i found the pump im lookin for..

Life tech HP 70,000, it has Q max 70,000 liter/ hr or equivalent to 18,480 GPH.. the price however is "too" cheap for that huge GPH.. it is about 200 USD.. i dont know if i should get it or not.

Another option is , ive sent an email to reeflo to see if they can ship it to indonesia.
