Hello, I am new. Could someone please help identify this fish?

The fish is gray in color and almost looks like its a saltwater fish but is not. It is about 9"-10" and aggressive.

Some kind of Viejja cichlid, not familiar with Central American Cichlids, but I know it's a Viejja cichlid. Someone with more experience will chime in,

Thanks for the welcome Paola :).

I was told up above the fish is a Vieja Argentea and since then I purchased him / her at a local fish store. Someone gave him / her up due to the fish being too mean I was told.

Hi Tahn,

Yes, the VA seems quite mean and near full grown (I think) (and has teeth), however, the VA is in a tank with a pair of Dovii who are preparing to breed for the first time. I'm going to have to get another tank for them asap since the pair of Dovii are facing off together towards the VA. They don't like each other.
