"JACK THE FLIPPER" My Terrorist Killer GREEN TERROR

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
But Gold Saums and White Saums (False Green Terror) aren't green.... They're bluey Tuiquoise colour. TRUE GREEN TERRORS (aka Stalsbergi) are Emerald Green. So technically the Former should be called Blue Terrors - Agreed?

The males maybe more blue for the gold saums, but not always the females. My girl is more green then blue.
Not that I want to get in on the debate here. I don't care what anyone wants to call them. True, false, makes no difference to me.

Either way, I still say "true" and "false" is artificial, artificial bragging rights. The only question of substance had been which is rivulatus and that's been settled.

Thanks for linking, I'll have to read those some other time when I'm not at work :)

Personally I don't view the labels of true vs false as bragging rights but more of identification because as we know, common labels can and often are applied to more then one fish.

Common names, such as true, and false? Or in this case, **TRUE** and, false. lol

I like to apotheosis....

The rivulatus I've had, white, gold, wild, have had a lot of green on them, but yes, also turquoise markings on the face and turquoise on the flanks. Personally, I like what Wayne Leibel does in calling them "green acaras" in the articles I've read. He, and Alf, and others have also called Andinoacara in general the "green terror group" and I like this just fine also.

As I say, what I don't see the point of is calling one false and the other true, it's a hobbyist generated thing real biologists aren't concerned with-- Alf is not a biologist, which is why he had to give in on the stalsbergi is rivulatus thing, as I quoted above, when Kullander the biologist confirmed the Ecuador fish is rivulatus and stalsbergi is another fish.

I don't see a point in arguing about a

Lol!

It's funny about the common name debate. I really don't care either way call it a blue fish for all I care. But I like both species. All I would care about is the scientific name when purchasing one, because we've all seen how upset people get when they get the wrong red terror.
