Possibly buying a new puffer: medicating? (worms?)

Trying to get my hands on a tetraodon schoutedeni. It will likely be wild caught. I was wondering, whne this fish shows up, how should i treat it? Should i immediately use something to deworm and treat for parasites? or wait a few days and observe it?
