Srd maybe and good size kok. What size is she? If she lays eggs shes fertile, the hardest part will be finding a male. I like to wait till the female is about adult size 5-6 inch. You can also keep her in a tabk divided with a male on the other side. Make sure to place a breeding stone or platform in her section of the tank, and let nature take its course. When she is ready / mature she will lay eggs on her own.

Another trick is too kept them separt, when her vent tube starts to drop and she is packing on weight feed lots for 2 or 3 days and increase the temp. Then add the male, once eggs are laid wait a few hours oe untill u see the male do his thing and remove him

Sorry to say but this method often times lead to eggs getting eaten...usually by the male. Not saying it won't work all the time. Just that the pair has not completely bonded. Best to see how they are without the divider. Once peaceful interaction has been achieved, you'll have a higher chance for success. CAUTION...may lead to injuries or death. Patience and multiple attempts may be necessary.

This is only when male is to aggressive. If he is on the other side of a divider he can not eat the eggs. Sorry should have went more into detail. Like you said he could kill the female, with high dollar fish caution is always good lol.
