Hello, a few quick questions on transfering my bass. I have 2 10" Orinos and a 7 Azul. The Orinos I picked up 4 days ago and the Azul I have had for about a month. They are in a 100 temporary tank, setting up my 180 now and planned to do the switch this weekend. With a mix of new and existing water, and moving the filters over to keep the BB. The two Orinos have settled in not bad, and one is eating regularly, the other not yet, but good color and activity. My questions are.

1. Is it too soon to move them again, I want to get them out of the 100 as soon as possible to the barebottom 180, as it will be more room obviously and have more filtration. Or should I wait?

2. What do you find is the best and least stressful way to capture them.? Net them or would bagging them or using a pillow case be better. They are all fairly calm, but I know how fast these guys can be, and I want to avoid them slamming into the glass or jumping

Any suggestiona would be appreciated.

Bass are hard to bag and anything 10" or bigger will most likely break the bag. Just make sure the temperature are the same and don't startle them when you net them. They should be fine for a tank move. Also don't feed right before a move.

Thanks, do you think it's too soon, as I got them this past Friday, or better just to get them in a bigger tank? And yes the move is literally about 15 feet across the room. Just not 100% confident in my netting skills, LOL.

if your tank is ready I don't see why you cant move them. It's better getting them into a tank letting them settle than to keep moving.

Thanks, that makes sense, seeing that they can't really go anywhere at that point. Guess I shouldn't worry as they seem to be tough fish

As long as everyone is healthy shouldn't be a problem it's more harmful if the fish is trying to escape the netting process and bangs against the glass or aquascaping so if I'm moving any of my fish I drop the water and remove driftwood stones etc so the fish does not hurt itself

They are in good health. Quick question though. One of the Orinos I picked up 6 days ago has eaten one piece of shrimp since I got him. Which based on what have read I not a big deal. How long would a 10" bass be able to go without food safely? The other Orino which I got at the same time it eating regularly both pellets shrimp and Tilapia, which the past owner fed. I have been feeding twice a day. Just concerned that another move might set it back abit, but I guess being in a much better suited tank is worth it right?
