Vieja Melanura Laguna Yaxha

A little update on my dominant male vieja melanura Laguna Yaxha. Got him from Jeff rapps at about a half inch of size last year October. He's now a good 10+ inches. No more females in the tank with him. He will get right to work with any female instantly. Don't have time to raise fry right now. Here's a picture of him when I first got him and a pic what he is now. Awesome fish. Highly recommend breeding them. Their breeding dresses are extremely beautiful.

Synspilum and then just the Argentea. The colors on this male started popping at 1 inch. Here's a pic for reference about a month after I got him. From my experience it's all luck with the genes of the fish to get real good color. I raised him with multi day water changes though along with Vita Chem soaked pellet. My fish are quite spoiled.

First pic is him 3 weeks after I got him.
Second pic is him 2 weeks later
Third pic is him in December so a month later.
Fourth pic is him a month later from last pic and then so on.

Wow- allow me to scoop my jaw up off the floor- very nice. I have a single female myself- she’s muted but I think that’s because of my more dominate black belt.
