Not sure if this is the right section for this post, but I was wondering , I'm trying to make my drain (1"hole ) to at least 1.5" . I was thinking of using a unibit but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.. drilling a new hole is easy for me but enlarging it ? I'm not so sure . Any inputs would be appreciated . Thanks mfk!

Here's a way to do it using a hole saw. Hole saws use a pilot bit to keep the saw from wandering. With the hole already there the pilot bit won't help. Take a piece of wood 1/2" -3/4" thick and make the bigger hole in it, this is your template. Clamp if you can (or use double stick tape) the template over the existing hole. Place the hole saw inside of the template and cut the new hole. The template keeps the saw from wandering. You can practice on a piece of scrap wood til you get the hang of it. Old carpenters trick and really not difficult. Really no other way to do it. Good luck.

make sure you use a diamond drill made for glass, once you've made your template, and using plenty of water over the area for cooling. As you can see, I drill a hole on top of my scrap wood template just large enough for tubing to wash over the glass and drill bit.
Or a hose works well

Give it a try, Duanes first pic is what I was talking about. I assumed you were talking acrylic since you mentioned a inhibit.
And yes I believe my avatar is what you think it is, if you want to pm me a number wee could share some pics that way. I couldn't figure out how to pm pics.

I did it the exact way duanes showed in the pictures.
x2. drill from the inside out, the glass may chip a little when the bit punches through. the chips can make it so the gasket won't seal if they are on the inside.

That is a good point about drilling inside out, in that way the rubber gasket will form to the imperfections. It is always best to put the bulkhead gasket on the inside glass.
It also allows you to use lots of cooling water when drilling, which (mostly) cascade into the tank.
