240 Uniquarium Setup & Stocking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Update: As per usual, the tank has officially driven past me and should hopefully be working it’s way back. It’s literally almost the same time frame as last time, so I expect they will try to deliver at the beginning of next week.

Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Guess we will see! Pictures coming tomorrow evening.

looking forward to your review. im trying to find out if they still make their 25 gallon version of the uni. its a 24"x16"x18" flat back hex. wanna do either a micro reef or a permanent home for my banded acaras and maybe a jaguar catfish. such a cool size tank for my kitchen or bedroom maybe.

Good news, the tank wasn't damaged this time! Delivery went good, other than being slow, my local freight company was fantastic to deal with.
I attached some pictures below of it packaged after delivery, also of the tank itself and then a video clip of the built in filtration system running. You will notice one side is running super slow compared to the other, this is because it is on the garage floor, which is slanted towards the door for drainage.

Hi BMac91
I know its been a while, just wondering how the tank is doing especially the filtration?

I am looking to order the 300 but is a little worry about the filtration capacity. Also, how much width did you lost with the filtration in the back? 4 inch or more?

Thankd

Interesting thread, and interesting product. If I were going to buy rather than build a big tank...which I'm not...and if I were going to put it in a finished area of my home...which I'm not...this is exactly the sort of design I'd look for.

But, no further updates on this tank??? Either it runs so perfectly that there's nothing to worry about and report, or it screwed up so badly that the OP's wife killed him...wonder which it is? :)

I have a 37 or so gallon Uniquarium that I used for salt water Reef and it is working very well, however, I believe most of the filtration are being done by my live rocks.

I was hoping to see his experience with the filtration on freshwater especially if stocking with larger fish.

I will be stocking large predator fishS and hoping this can be sufficient instead of separate filtration.

The OP hasn't been on since May 2019.

Thanks Deeda

I will see if I can find someone else who has similar tanks.

There was a local builder that use to sell those, but smaller tank. They defintely work and convenient.

I would guess that looks ~5" width. That's about 50gallons of the tank and reduced volume from fish.
