In front of my tanks
I'm slowly loosing all my big veijas I'll use metroplex get them eating again but I always loose one. I alternate between prazi and metro on and off for the last six months just seems like it won't go away. Any one have any other ways. I can' keep using prazi either it reeks havoc on my bio

You need to diagnose the cause of HITH. I struggled with my rhom for a long time and nothing I tried worked. Eventually lost him.

My new aimara then got HITH and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out it wasn't because of Bactria but I had voltage leakage in my tank that also causes HLLE/HITH. That solved my problem.

Prazi won't do anything for hexamita. Although, I've never had Prazi affect the bio in a quarantine tank. There is a huge sticky up top of this forum on knocking back hex. Basically combine 3% epsom salt solution with metro and mix in a gel food base. To make 3% epsom salt, combine 1/2 cup of distilled water with 3/4 teaspoon of epsom salt. You could something a bit more expensive but less of a hassle, which is to purchase 3mm NLS Hex Shield. It has both epsom salt and metro.

Nitrates must be less than 20ppm.

6 months? If you're still having problems after that amount of time then I'd move onto Levamisole HCI. philipraposo1982 philipraposo1982 believed hex/spironucleus and dosed for months with metro before finally trying levamisole which solved the problem.

I assume there's white or clear stringy feces?

How have you been dosing the metroplex? Have you been adding it to the food or dosing the tank?

I have beat Spironucleus aka Hexamita, even have a sticky posted on the subject. But if you suspect worms, as part or parcel of the problem, and you have already treated with Praziquental then as suggested you need to switch from Prazi to Levamisole. Both meds treat for different worms, Prazi is best when flatworms/tapeworms is suspected. For most roundworms, Levamisole is more effective.

Also, a case of Spiro/Hex doesn't always equate to a case of HITH.

Could I use the levamisole that the vets would use for deworming animals or is that different
