As the title implies I'm looking for some sort of sealant adhesive to seal up the leak that occurred in my 300 gallon aquaterrarium. I got the pics posted on here somewhere, worked pretty hard on it but its leaked out of the viewing window twice now. I love the rubber product I used, but that stuff does not bond to glass. Anyways ive been eyeballing Goop Marine Adhesive sealant, 3M 5200, PL Roof and Flashing, and some product I saw on here called ECO roof and flashing. Thanks in advance for any input.

sani tred makes a special epoxy primer to use with glass and acrylic, did you use the epoxy?

I did. That stuff does not bond to glass whether smooth or sanded. Now that epoxy does look good on my floor where it has a tenacious grip. But under immersed circumstances it peeled away twice. I love the Sani-Tred product, just wish I had done more research on products that bond to both rubber and glass. Now I'm finding a lot.

how long did you let the epoxy cure? did you put a layer of permafelx over the epoxy? i ask because i have been considering sanitred for my build.

I let the epoxy cure for 2 days. Did a layer of PermaFlex, then I did a thick bead of LRB as caulking on the seal side. Did the same on the water side followed by an extra layer of PermaFlex. When it comes to wood these products are tenacious in their hold. But the whole viewing glass to rubber matrix is where it fails.

thanks for the reply. maybe ill use sanitred for the 3 of the walls and just epoxy the front frame for the window. how well did the sanitred bond to the epoxy?

Urethane windshield caulk, touph stuff. Sticks tenaciously to glass. Sticks to epoxy, but new epoxy not so well to cured caulk.
