Safe “Safe” dosage

Robham, I agree. I only asked Dr. Greg as a local friend was using Safe premixed in a medical doser, for his drip system. Unfortunately his doser failed one day when he was out of town working, and the overdose killed one of the nicest motoro rays that I have ever seen, along with a couple very large clown loaches.

I had not considered a situation like that, unfortunate end result though. Makes perfect sense in that context.

This is the amount of Safe I weighed out to treat 40 gallons:

Are we there yet?
Hello; You gave very useful new, for me, information in that water treatment plants do not normally combine chlorine and chloramine. My water is treated only with chlorine from my report. Good to know.
However that is not the question I am trying to ask. I likely stated it poorly. Even if it is not a real world scenario, consider a hypothetical. If somehow tap water had all three , chlorine, chloramine and ammonia at the same time. Lets also say that for each alone the dose of SAFE for the amount of water used is 1 tsp.
The question is do I dose for all three together with 3 tsp or will 1tsp be sufficient?

using safe for your water conditioner
Hello; No not yet. I have some PRIME yet unused. The SAFE is so far unopened. I normally do not use either for simple WC. My source water has only Chlorine so I store it in containers for a few days before using it for a WC.

Safe is mixed with water, that it should be used within 30 days.
Hello; This is what I was basing my method on. I figure if it is good for 30 days then 21 days of pre mixed should be safe for SAFE.

don't see the point of premixing it.
Hello; As in the example of the OP having several tanks and using my presumption a 50% WC. I figured 230 gallons of water that needed only one half teaspoon of SAFE. To me the issue is how to divide 1/2 teaspoon among several tanks.
For me he numbers seemed to be that putting the 1/2 tsp of SAFE into 58 ounces of water would make figuring the dose for each tank simpler.
