Bottom drain aquarium input

New acrylic tank, bare bottom, running two Ultima 2000 filter (closed loop)

I think I am set on doing 2 - 1.5" bulkheads on the bottom floor of the tank to the bead filter and have return on the back side of the tank.

I am trying to cover all basis in the event of emergency, power outage and etc.

Cons ? anything that I am leaving out to chance ?

I wouldn't go more than two at 1.5" or you risk the suction being weakened. There are some basket style intake screens on eBay in 1.5" right now. You should jump on those, they are hard to find. If not I will lol

Are you going to have an overflow box go to these bottom drains?

The reason people don't do bottom drains is leaking and maintance. If it leaks you are totally screwed with no way to repair it without draining the tank. If you have it in an overflow box you just drop the water an inch and you can repair.
