been posting all over about this new tank (1 year down the road) and the only stocking options I am 100% set on is a Fire Eel and a Black Ghost Knife. Probably looking like angel fish for top/middle ground, but I also love plecos and would like some recommendations on one that would fit in nicely with that stocking (if any)! Tank will be about 50% planted and 50% open sand when it's done.

A lot of it depends on preference.

Do you have a color/pattern preference?

Do you want a carnivore, wood eater, vegetarian or omnivore?

Do you want one that will stay kinda small or do you want a monster one?

I have a vampire in one of 125 gallon tanks, I like them but was thinking of something a little more colorful to offset the darker color fish that will be in the tank. As long as it's not gonna eat/kill my BGK or angels (fire eels in my experience can handle anything), then the diet isn't too important, though I would rather not have one that will eat all the driftwood in the tank lol. Size wise, thinking somewhere in the 15-20" range, nothing much bigger.

With as much as I'm spending on a 350g tank... less than 500$ lmao

well damn no blue eyes lol

Personally I'd go with one of the cactus plecos like the L025 or L160. You could do an L095 but they are hard to find. You could do one of my favorites the three beacon pleco L091. I think you're missing out on the royal plecos but they are wood eaters

Exactly how much wood do they eat lol, and would it matter if they had java moss growing on it?

my L190 and L027 royals leave my java moss alone unlike some of my other plecos. I know they don't eat much at the size I have them, 5", but I also give them veggies

Royals are VERY slow growers to reach 2' would probably take 15+ years. Royals are pretty docile and only really shove around other royals and only if there isn't enough hides. Also check out L330 aka spotted royal
