Yep 90 to 92 , that’s what I keep all my tanks. Keeps parasites and disease to a minimum. I’ve bought 2 different groups of discus from these guys and only lost 2 out of 20. One of my discus tanks are even featured on their website. It’s common for discus to live in warmer water. If you put discus in any water below 82 to 84 you are begging for a big disaster. When one gets sick they all seem to go to that fish and school around it , thus causing a rapid spread of disease. Warm water goes a long way in preventative maintenance. Just make sure you provide plenty of oxygen and filtration because at high temps you can get in trouble with ammonia. But if you know proper feeding techniques you’ll be fine.
Depends on the plecos, I kept royals, clowns, bristlenoses, and gold nuggets with my discus, the problem with other fish with discus is the order in how you do it. If you put the discus in first and allow them to astablish the territory first then adding some angels that are smaller than your discus you’ll be ok, but if you were to do the opposite,,, well,, you’ll probably loose your discus . Plus wild discus and angels should never be in the same tank because angles can carry a parasite that can kill your discus. Discus,, once established, in their tank can be somewhat aggressive mine would kill any tetra i added such as neons, rummynose, the only thing I could add that they wouldn’t kill were tiger barbs, but my discus were also mature and constantly laying eggs. Just add them first before any other fish and you should be okI'm putting the plecos with my angelfish and red lazer cories and rainbowfish with the discus if that sounds ok
I respectully dissagree with the above. There are waaaaay more than one way to skin a cat.
It would be interesting to see pictures of your discus.
Have you ever raised discus? You do know that optional breeding temperature is between 90 and 94. Do you know where the are naturally found in the wild? Near the banks in tree branches and roots. Skin your cats the way you want , my way works 100 percent. My discus were all the size of a half dollar when I got em. What temp do you keep them?

* Seing your discus now I understand your reasoning, they are all below average at best. Some of them are skinny and stunted.
* I have bred and rised more discus in my own tanks that you will ever own (actually I have culled more discus fish than you will ever own).
* Optimal breeding temperature is 82, anything above that will actually work against breeding.
* Yes I know where they are found in the wild, but with all due respect the fish in your tank and the fish out in the wild are so many generations apart that they have few in common.
* 82 F is what I keep my discus all year round, no need for more.
