I Don't Know What to Keep Anymore :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I called about a leopard puffer local to me today £180 tho eek...
I think the only 4" fish I'm tempted to spend that much on, add a dwarf giraffe cat and some Congo tetra if not polys and would be n awesome tank.

Sometimes i look at the 300 and think how cool it would look to have a heavily decorated (plants/dw) peaceful community tank. Tons of little tetras, cories and what not.

Forget a planted 300 unless you enjoy algae scrubbing haha! Okay with otocinclus you'll be okay but I'd hate to think what an ADA level 300 would cost to run. Low tech would be fun though :)
you can keep lot in a 75-90 4 feet is not bad i like uaru and geos or what about spiny eels or bgk.
I wouldn't keep a 12-14" Knife in a 48" tank... Just my 2c

Ive had a few planted tanks amd never had an algae problem once

Yeah I don't really run into issues either. I'm just wondering how you'd get in all the nooks and crannies of a tank that size

It all depends on water, ferts, light cycle etc.

In my opinion, If it is set up properly, you shouldn't need too get into the nooks/crannies as you will have a clean up crew to eat any debris/algae and flow to prevent it from building up too much.

+1 large or small same principles apply. I never got into high maintenance stuff but never the less i didnt have any algea problems.

Op what about a pleco tank ?

ive seen a 12-16in knife in 48in tanks more times then in 6ft tanks even cory from aquraium co-op on youtube says a bgk is fine in a 48in tank if you go on his oddball fish stream
It's personal choice. I'm very happy seeing my group of 6" knives have plenty of space to run around in. It's okay but not ideal imo.
