Nice setup Jaws, and of course love the pearsei.

You certainly have plenty of room for other cichlids however the problem you will run into now is adding fish to an already established tank with mature fish. When setting up a community it is always best to try and grow them all out together. I have also never had success keeping simply two lone cichlids together. One will become dominant and simply harass the other constantly. Numbers come into play here as the more fish you have the more the aggression is spread out.

With that said, I'm sure the current residents won't mind the extra space...

Oh i was just joking. I want nothing to do with the trial and errors of cichlid comms they are great but not always the easiest to achieve and like you mentioned the pearsei is mature which would only complicate things more. To be honest the heterospilus and two smaller jaguar cats wouldnt be in there of i didnt have to close down their tank.

How the bioload on your tank ? Mine is a p.i.t.a

Gotcha.

I really don't have a problem bioload wise. I do a 60% water change once a week and currently only have a single FX6 running. I picked up another FX6 second hand and am in the works of hard plumbing it, along with my existing one. I'll still continue with my 60% water changes once the second filter is up and running but I should be more than set filtration wise.

I'm surprised you are having problems with your setup. What exactly is the issue?

The problem is me lol.

Aside from the pearsei and heterospilus theres a 12 inch vulture cat and 7 polypterus ranging from 15 to 18 inches. I dont like hitting 40ppm nitrates between wcs. I change probably 90% weekly. I bring the display down to just above the pearsei and the sump down to just above the bio.

I need to install a drip

Meh throw some of them rare Oscars rapps has in there:-)
