hey guys. Trying to see if anyone knows definitively that these are the same filters. I ask because the power jet is significantly cheaper. Apparently, the only difference is the fittings that it comes with.

If that’s the case, would the power jet 5800 be a good substitute for the max flo 2900?

Same specs on water flow. Same specs on power consumption.

Pics from amazon fro reference.

The maxflo is 2900gph the power jet is 600 gph.

Never mind, I’m tired and when I looked at the pic I completely forgot all the text I just read.

So, what you're actually wanting to compare are the

Powerjet 2900, 2900 GPH

vs

Max flo 2900, 2900 GPH?

pump specs are identical, they use the same replacement impeller, the big difference I can see is the powerjet comes with fountain parts and some valves.

Also I've found from a post on reef central quoting...

We thank you for taking the time to contact us.

The pumps are the same, and the difference between the two are the fountain attachments.

Soooo...I don't see why the powerjet is $20usd cheaper(Found the Max flo cheaper than you screenshotted), but you might as well go with that and get the fountain attachments.

The power jet should work just the same in a sump then? Or would I need to buy new fittings. Mind sharing where you found the better price?

Here's the cheaper one: https://www.amazon.com/Laguna-Max-F...pID=51vKU5RaNJL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Yeah, should work exactly the same. The max flo do mention some circuitry that monitors the pump and, but everything seems to say they're identical. And I'd rather pay less money for something with fewer parts to break if it does have some circuitry that somehow monitors and does who knows what.

Otherwise it looks like the only difference externally is a bit of ribbing on the housing.
