wow..beautiful tank and setup...one day i'd like to do a monster tank with peacock bass again...
You definitely should! I don’t have a ton of experience with them since my largest tank in the past was a 225.

Thanks for the compliment!

Just got my pikes in. Tank is crowded and will need a ton of water changes until the big tank is setup after which, the zebrina and Orinos will leave this tank.

Got some anubias I’ll be planting into the wood later tonight and have some large swords and water lettuce coming over the weekend to finish out this scape.

LOVE the creni’s!!!! Let me know how their zebrina are personality wise. I’ve wondered how they are to keep

Just put the anubias along with the dwarf water lettuce. Not sure how the water lettuce will do with the flow rate in this tank. Figured it was worth a try. They came in pretty rough shape.

Hopeful that the flagtail will keel the anubias leaves clean.

Three large amazon sword mother plants should be here tomorrow or the day after. Those plus a couple more stones and this tank’s scape is finished.

Thank you.

The zebrina are peaceful while younger. As they age and grow towards full size around 13-14”, they will start bullying other fish.

My former pair was docile the first few years. I kept them with wild discus and Bolivian rams and angels and they were fine. Then after a year, I noticed bruises on my discus so I had to sell them. Later I put them in with my bass and rays. They started biting the rays disks and controlled the floor of a 225 aquarium. Had to move the rays.

I was part of the group of folks that swore up and down that zebrina can be kept with anything. Then after several years, they became very aggressive. In your larger tanks, they should be fine with all the stock you have. I doubt they can control the floor of a 500-600 aquarium.

Great tank and great to see you taking the time to do it all properly
Thank you sir. Been envisioning this tank for months. I’m just glad I was able to source everything I was looking for. Access is much easier on the west coast than the east.
