Rozy barb with a tumur?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If the problem turns out to be Lymphocystis, there is no known medication to cure it. If it's a mild case, special attention to water quality and diet likely will strengthen the immune system enough to defeat the virus, and the blemishes will fade.

in some articles I read that it dosent infect barbs and other fish from the family, what do you think? im not sure that was true

I'm certainly not a marine biologist, Lol, but as far as I know every living creature is suseptical to viruses. When I think of exterior bacterial infections on fish, bumps and lumps don't come to mind. The white patches of Columnaris or deterioration of fins are the markers I associate with bacteria.

True, it doesn't affect certain species of fish.

I'd look for another cause for the growth.

yes but not all viruses infect all animals..

Yes, I totally agree with that. It's been quite a while since I've kept Rosey Barbs. I remember them to be very durable. Do the blemishes appear to be growing or worsening?

since yesterday no. he also ate a little today, his at the same spot most of the time but its a very small tank and he dosent look weak or something

That is good news. Usually by the time you see symptoms of a bacterial infection on the outside, the damage has already been done on the inside, and the fish usually won't eat. Maybe this situation isn't all that bad and it will level out soon.
