anyone hav issues bringing a snake out of a cooling period through winter? My Boa was kept about room temp around 70ish for a bit, wished I didn’t now, upon snapping her out of it she was sort of doing the corkscrew thing, hard time moving straight, hard to keep head from twisting upside down.

4th day now of warming her back up and she’s not realy doing that anymore, drank some water, eye movement good, tongue good, no more cork screwing, red tail boa about 20 ish years old.

Gonna try to feed in a couple days.

Anyone run into this?

For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve kept and bred fish and reptiles for over 25 years, I used to try and help out here a lot but life got so dang busy, sorry to those of you that think I died lmao

Too me I don’t think tropical boas should truly go through a brumation period, however I was only letting it rest at room temperature for a couple months. Again, wish I didn’t.

Boas only need a night time temp drop as far as "cooling" goes. If they get too cold for prolonged periods, they tend to develop respiratory infections, especially if there's also high humidity.

Though I don't recall if we've talked back and forth very much I do remember seeing your name around a few years ago.Good to see you back and good luck with the boa.
