Hey guys I just signed up to this forum. Glad to be here.
So I been researching on getting a Barred or Saddled Birchir
I'm planning getting the smallest I can get one and grab a 20-40 gallon long for the meantime.
What I want is to keep him/her alone with some fishes to clean his/her mess whenever it's full any recommendations?

Welcome aboard

Saddled Bichir aka Endlicheri is one of Lower Jaw Polypterus that will grow quickly and large so personally I wouldn't delay the upgrade. Tbh Polys are not really messy and doing gravel vacuuming and 50% or more water changes will be necessary for vital growth and health.:)

Look toward the upper jaws if a 20g or 40g is the long term plan. If ur planning to go bigger then you can consider the bigger lower jaws.

Also if u get the 40g a couple of Senegalus will be entertaining.

Please review the link tlindsey tlindsey mentioned.
