UJ bichirs and roseline shark

so i just got back in the poly hobby and now that i have 16 UJ size are about 2”-3” and all are CB. I feed them once every other day so im controlling their growth even tho i know they can have a growth spourt anytime soon.

My question is if i buy some roseline shark right now that are about 3”-4” before my polys get about 7”-9”, what are the possibilities that they will be not eaten, how big do you think the roseline shark will get by the time my polys reach 7”-9”? How fast do roseline shark grow? Ive read they max out about 5”-6”.

They should be ok. They are hardy and fast. I used to have filament barbs with polys. They are similar to filaments. So should be good.

I think you'll be fine. Though demisoni barbs do tend to grow kind of slow. At 3 to 4" already you shouldn't have any worry.

Yeah I've had those with my ujs too, that's a great barb. I just sold off the last 30 filimented fry I had. Glad they are gone though ate all my plants.....I shoulda known my fault.

kno4te kno4te will filament barb eat or destroy plants? And how big do they grow?

Im not who you asked but I've had them as stated above and yes they will eat your plants. Males get about 5" I've seen females 8+. Mine are about 4-5 now they grow really slow. In one of the pics I posted in your current thread you can see them. I had 2 males 2 females and another that could have gone either way too young to tell yet. They breed all the time. Currently they are at the vet clinic that I take care of the fish tanks at. They are in with African cichlids. Great fish lots of movement but will deffinatly eat your plants. That's why they couldn't live in my tank anymore.

Yes. Mine did they got 6inches. I had a lot of males and they were very active and a bit aggressive.

I cant get them if they will eat plants, my lfs told me most barb will eat plant and he recommended the roseline shark.
