My 22” African Aro has a lump on his side that looks slightly red and is pushing the scales out over it. There are like 5-6 scales raised up from it. He’s acting very lazy and moping around the tank and didn’t eat today, which he normally eats the most in the tank. Has anyone ever seen this on an Aro or any other fish before and know what it is? Water params are all good, temp is 80. I took some pics of it but it’s hard tell in the pics so didn’t bother to post them.

Might be an internal tear/ bacterial infection. I have faced such an issue with a smaller Asian arowana. Cause was a live feeder fish. I would suggest a slightly higher temperature, some salt and frequent water changes.

There is also rays in the tank... I guess it could have been a sting. But it doesn’t look like there is a puncture wound....

Today it’s swelling up even worse

Any of your rays missing a stinger or the protective sheath on the stinger is ripped?
