First look on RTCxNiger hybrid. Have been hybrid with TSN and Niger before, but no updates on the fish. So I decided to go find myself these hybrid and ended having a rtc hybrid. Expected huge growth from this guys.

The hell? It's rare enough for two genus to cross, but two family's? Dang, that's strange. I wanna stay undated on these things, lol.
Hybrid always artificial. Like RTCxTSN, LeixTSN, RTCxParoon, TSNxNiger. But don't know how long they'll last. Some aquarist said hybrid like this only stays to 12" or so then they died. Probably from imperfections of their genetics combined. Hopefully this one will live to its full life.
To put this in perspective, we are much closer to chimpanzees than those two species are to each other, as we at least share the same family (hominidae).
Nope, I'm in Malaysia. Sorry. The farm guy said he got some hybrid he wanted to sell, only tells me that he only had 5 pieces (5 pieces only ever existed, like test of hybrid or something, don't know if its true or not), so I didn't expect it to be this kind. Bought the five of em. One of them died, distorted from shipping, probably swimming bladder problem. Treat it this morning and started eating, tonight its body floating on the surface.
