My House!
Hi all!

Member J J. H. gave me an awesome idea for a cheap mother's day gift, so I'm sharing my test jar.

The jar I'm using holds 500ml of water when empty, so there's probably only about 350ml with all the stuff in it.

To place the wood and rock I used plastic salad tongs which was trickier than I thought it'd be. To place the tiny anubias I used a wooden spoon handle and gently pushed the roots (not the rhizome!) into the gravel, I accidentally damaged one of the larger anubias leaves with the spoon handle in the process but oh well, its just a tester jar.

I showed my mum the jars J J. H. made and she really liked them so I'm hoping she likes the one I make for her too.

Nice, are you going to add a pond/bladder snail?
Na, just the plants. Remember, I'm the person who puts a betta in a 50ltr tank and by the time he's full size I think he looks crammed and move him to something 100+ltrs, no live animal is going in a 350ml jar if I can help it. :D

Well, there's a lot of fur in my little test jar. Not sure how that much fur got in there with the lid on it, but it did.

There was no fur visible in it Monday night and now (Saturday arvo) its got fur everywhere!

I'm starting to think I'm gonna have to do mums jar at a friends house just to avoid the huge amounts of fur getting into it.

A picture of the little jar with fur. The jar has no scratches visible on it, all that white stuff is cat fur

Anyone have any suggestions for keeping fur out of the actual jar when I do it?

Hello; By the way I picked up two Metallica CD's today. I only listened to a song or two so far. Not as relaxing as I had hoped.

Hello; The bobbin of thread is a nice touch.
I used it to attach the java fern to the wood... Probably should of moved it for the pic. :D

Hahaha at your age I'd be very surprised if you found any kind of metal music relaxing. :P
