Just got this fish yesterday, should’ve looked harder before purchase. What is on his eye and is that fin rot for real??? I’m so pissed. His scales look terrible too.

Doesn't look like fin rot to me. IME, fin rot blackens the affected area. It does look inflamed though. The white stuff is probably either ich or velvet, maybe columnaris, I'm not an expert on the parasitic front. The cloudy eye is likely from bad water quality. Also looks like he's missing some scales from being beaten up.

Good water quality will probably cure it since he doesn't look malnourished or anything. Salt baths and antibiotics may help as well.

Did you see the first pic? It looks like skins rotting to the bone. Idk what fungal infections are suposied to look like. I’m new to cichlids. What should I do

Fungal is typically fizzy white patches but that's not always the case. If hes in qt now treat him with cp and metro for 2 weeks and re evaluate

Chloroquine phosphate. You won't find it at a store. Usually needs a prescription from a vet but new life spectrum now has it. It's called NLS ick shield powder. Amazon has it. Metro is metroplex by seachem. That may be at a store but it's cheaper on amazon. If you prefer store you could do the metro and seachem paragaurd

Hard to tell, but it doesn't look like ich. Looks more like colmnarus possibly. Is that an acei cichlid? The reason I suggested those 2 is because between the 2 itll get rid of nearly any possible issue with the fish. Metro even does internal issues. If you go with cp and metro it is important that there is no carbon. Just a bio sponge. You're going to also want to do 2 WC a week. And re dose cp in the new water before adding it. Metro is redosed every 48 hours so I would reccomend doing the WC on the day you redose metro. I would also reccomend doing a half dose of cp then adding the rest after 24 hours. Cp can sometimes sepress appetite but not usually in my experience. If you wanna go with paragaurd instead of cp get lots of it because it must be redosed every 24 hours

Sorry, also forgot to mention that both these medications reduce oxygen saturation so you must have an air stone or 2 would be better and they are both light sensitive so keep lights off for the whole day except for maybe 20 minutes while feeding to be sure they are eating
