Polypterus Congicus photo thread.

Thanks. Yes when i got in some different lights on the tank then colors started fading.
I am very happy about this one, i've got 3 of them but this one is my favourite. Constantly swimming to try and escape though. I wish i could change that? Without letting it escape LOL!

Yup as vancouver said, congis are known to jump / have a tendency to try and escape. Outta all the poly species I've had, my congi is the one who tried the longest and looked for escape routes out of the tank the most often (it actually jumped out twice but I managed to save it). They should stop trying to escape once they've settled and are well fed.

Probably looked at this pic 4 or 5 times already. I know everyone loves the sp's and PBB but for me it's going to always be congicus. Looks at it's head.... Seriously would trade any of my Polys for something like that. I could imagine what in tank shots would look like.

Hao Hao if possible find out the collection point and how much $$$ a congi that size would go for

So far I've found out the largest piece is about 31" Congicus. So it's not the largest congi out there. Plenty of larger ones but it's hard to judge when they are inside of a tank.

I'll head there over the weekend to snap some pics! hopefully the buyer will leave it there over the weekend :)

If I lived anywhere near an lfs like this one I would be broke.
